Uttar Pradesh is stepping into a new era of sustainable industrialization with the upcoming PM Mitra Park, set to be developed across Lucknow and Hardoi districts. With an estimated investment of Rs 1,680 crore, the mega textile project is projected to create over one lakh jobs and attract fresh investments worth Rs 10,000 crore. The state government envisions this initiative as a blend of economic expansion and environmental responsibility.

Part of the Centre’s PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme, the Uttar Pradesh park joins six others across Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Collectively, these parks aim to draw investments of Rs 70,000 crore and generate nearly 20 lakh direct and indirect jobs across India by 2028.

The Uttar Pradesh project stands out for its strong focus on green development. The layout plan dedicates 11 percent of the total area to greenery and fruit plantations, including buffer zones and green belts to ensure pollution control and biodiversity preservation. Additionally, 55 percent of the land will host industrial units, while the remaining area will be allocated for housing, institutional facilities, transport hubs, and amenities.

In keeping with the state’s “Development with Environment” vision, the park will feature eco-friendly construction materials, energy-efficient infrastructure, rainwater harvesting, solar power generation, and e-waste management systems. It reflects Uttar Pradesh’s ambition not only to be India’s “Growth Engine” but also a model “Green State.”

By aligning industrial progress with sustainability, the PM Mitra Park promises to transform Uttar Pradesh into a hub of textile excellence where innovation, employment, and environmental balance grow hand in hand.
