Vietnam’s textile and garment industry is entering the final stretch of 2025 with remarkable momentum aiming for an ambitious export target of US$ 47-48 billion. The sector’s growth has been fueled by robust order flows and expanding global connections, reflecting the country’s strengthened position on the international stage. In the first seven months alone export turnover surpassed $26.33 billion marking an increase of $5.3 billion or 9 percent, over the same period in 2024. Many enterprises have already secured orders through year-end sustaining steady growth.
To reach its annual goal, exports will need to average over $4 billion per month for the remainder of the year. Despite this challenge, industry experts remain confident, citing the sector’s consistent expansion and diversified market reach. According to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), Vietnamese garments now reach 132 countries and territories up from 104 in 2024 with increasing presence in China, Russia, CIS nations and Asean markets. Companies are also exploring overseas investments in Mexico, Myanmar, India and Egypt highlighting Vietnam’s growing footprint in global textile supply chains.
Industry leaders emphasize the importance of adapting to evolving trade dynamics, utilizing new-generation free trade agreements, and embracing sustainable practices. Enterprises are accelerating the shift from traditional production methods to higher-value models such as FOB, ODM and OBM, while investing in modern machinery and workforce upskilling. Despite challenges from tariffs and regulatory changes in major markets, Vietnam’s textile sector remains resilient. With strategic planning, sustainable initiatives and flexible financial management, the industry is well-positioned to achieve record-breaking export results and further cement its status as a global textile powerhouse.
