Indian ethnic wear brand Soch Apparels has embarked on an ambitious international journey with the launch of three new stores in Malaysia, marking a milestone in its global expansion strategy. This move reflects the brand’s commitment to bringing Indian fashion to international audiences while staying true to its roots in heritage and celebration.
The newly opened stores are located in Klang, Johor Bahru, and Kuala Lumpur, operated through a franchise partnership with Venturist Sdn. Bhd., a local retail company known for its market expertise. Each outlet will feature curated collections designed to suit Malaysia’s tropical climate and local cultural festivities, while retaining Soch’s signature style and contemporary aesthetic.
Vinay Chatlani, Co-founder and CEO of Soch Apparels, emphasized the significance of this launch, stating, “Soch has always been about making Indian ethnic wear aspirational yet accessible. Malaysia allows us to carry that promise overseas in a market that understands celebration, heritage, and community at its core. With these stores, we are laying the foundation for Soch to be recognised as not just India’s ethnic wear leader, but as a global brand with contemporary cultural relevance.”
The brand has ambitious plans for further growth, targeting additional locations across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, as well as the UK and US markets over the next three to five years. Alongside physical stores, Soch intends to introduce e-commerce for local customers, broadening accessibility and enhancing customer experience.
This international push follows Soch’s successful debut in Canada and builds on a strong domestic presence of over 175 stores across 68 cities in India. Known for its wide-ranging collections, including sarees, salwar suits, kurtis, lehengas and fusion wear, Soch Apparels is steadily cementing its position as a global ambassador of Indian ethnic fashion.
