Madhya Pradesh Poised to Become Global Textile Hub with Major Investments

Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a potential global hub for Textile manufacturing as 15 major companies plan to invest a combined 12,508 crore in the state. The upcoming PM-Mitra Park in Badnawar, Dhar, is set to be a game-changer with its foundation-laying ceremony scheduled soon. To promote investments, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav traveled to New Delhi and addressed an interactive session at Hotel ITC Maurya, attended by leading business magnates, commercial houses, and investors from India’s textile sector. Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh also graced the event.

Dr. Yadav highlighted the strong interest shown by industry leaders in investing in Madhya Pradesh’s textile ecosystem. The proposed investments are expected to generate around 18,000 direct jobs with companies such as Trident contributing 4,500 crore, AB Cotspin 1,300 crore and Arvind Mills 1,024 crore, among others. Emphasizing government support, the Chief Minister invited investors to confidently establish their ventures in the state, promising all necessary facilities and incentives.

PM-Mitra Park, initiated under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, aims to integrate the complete textile value chain from cotton cultivation to finished garment exports enhancing cost efficiency and global competitiveness. With Madhya Pradesh ranking seventh in cotton production nationally, the park will position the state alongside Gujarat as a leading textile powerhouse. Giriraj Singh noted that the project fulfills decades-old industry demands and will provide India a new identity in the global textile market, tapping into an $800 billion opportunity while boosting local employment and investment growth.
